These eggs come from the same 35 acres that are home to In Her Element — a luxury women’s wellness retreat in Springfield, Tennessee. This land was always meant to be more than a farm.
We believe that what you put in your body and how you care for your soul are connected. The hens you just met live on the same property where women come to rest, reset, and remember themselves.

ABOUT THE EGGS

Most eggs in grocery stores come from hens kept in tight, confined conditions with limited space and no access to the outdoors. Our hens are different. They roam 35 open acres at Hopecote Farm every single day, forage naturally on pasture, and rotate behind horses for peak soil health. The result is a richer, deeper yolk and a flavor that’s hard to describe until you taste it. Once you do, you’ll notice the difference immediately.

Our hens are fed a non-GMO diet and are raised completely free of antibiotics and hormones. We are not currently USDA Certified Organic, but our practices align closely with organic principles. Our girls eat clean, live well, and it shows in every egg they lay.

It depends on who’s having a good week! Our flock includes breeds that lay white, brown, and blue eggs. Pearl, our Splash Ameraucana, is responsible for those stunning blue shells that make every carton feel like a treasure box. Most cartons will contain a beautiful mix.

No — and that’s intentional. Farm-fresh eggs have a natural protective coating called the “bloom” or “cuticle” that seals the shell and keeps bacteria out. Washing removes it. We keep the bloom intact so your eggs stay fresher, longer. Just rinse each egg under cool water right before you crack it — not before you store it.

Very. We collect eggs daily and pack orders as close to delivery as possible. Most eggs you receive will be less than a week old — a significant difference from grocery store eggs, which can be 4–8 weeks old by the time they reach your refrigerator.

If you have an egg allergy, our eggs are still eggs — the allergen is the protein in the egg itself, not how the hens are raised. Pasture-raising does not reduce allergen content. Please consult your doctor if you have concerns about egg allergies.

We’re located at 918 Blackwood Road in Springfield, Tennessee — about 35 miles north of Nashville in Robertson County. The farm sits on 35 rolling acres that we are actively stewarding for the long term.

We have a carefully curated flock of heritage and specialty breeds, including Silver Duckwing Phoenix, White Polish, Splash Ameraucana, Black Laced Gold Wyandotte, Blue Silkie Bantam, Mottled Houdan, Columbian Rock, Olive Egger, Buff Silkie Bantam, and Easter Egger. Each breed brings something distinctive to the flock — in personality, plumage, and the eggs they lay.

It’s a regenerative farming practice we love. Our horses graze a section of pasture first, then the hens follow behind. The hens scratch through the horse manure, eating fly larvae and parasites while simultaneously fertilizing the soil. It’s a natural, symbiotic rotation that improves pasture health, reduces pest pressure without chemicals, and gives our hens a constantly refreshed, nutrient-rich environment to forage in.

We maintain a small, intentional flock — which is exactly the point. Smaller flocks mean more space per bird, more individual attention, and a better quality of life for every hen. Our flock size allows us to know each bird personally, which is why every carton comes with a hen personality card. We have around 40 hens total- some are laying, some are still growing, and some are older ladies who we love on.

Never. Not once. Our hens are raised completely antibiotic-free and hormone-free. If a hen ever needs veterinary care, she receives it — and her eggs are kept separate during any treatment period. Healthy hens raised in healthy conditions simply don’t need routine antibiotics.

You can order directly through our online store right here on this page. We offer individual dozen orders as well as seasonal bundles. Select your quantity, choose pickup or delivery (if available in your area), and check out. It’s that simple.

At this time, we do not ship eggs. Eggs are a perishable product that require careful handling, and we want to ensure every carton arrives to you in perfect condition. We currently serve the Nashville area through our CSA delivery program and offer local pickup at the farm. We’ll announce expanded delivery options as we grow.

Yes! Farm pickup is available by appointment. Please place your order online and select the farm pickup option. We’ll confirm your pickup window by email. The farm is located at 918 Blackwood Rd, Springfield, TN 37172.

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture — it’s a direct relationship between you and our farm. When you join our egg CSA, you subscribe to receive regular deliveries of farm-fresh eggs on a schedule that works for you. You get eggs that are fresher than anything on a grocery store shelf, and we get the stability to plan, invest in the flock, and keep doing this the right way.

Sign up on this page and choose your subscription frequency (weekly or bi-weekly). We confirm your delivery window and route. Eggs are packed fresh and delivered on your scheduled day. You’ll receive an email or text the day before each delivery. It’s low-maintenance by design — one less thing on your list.

You can choose weekly or bi-weekly delivery depending on your household’s needs. Most families find bi-weekly perfect for a 2–4 person household. Larger families or serious cooks often prefer weekly. You can adjust your frequency anytime by contacting us.

Yes. We know life happens. You can pause your subscription for vacations or busy seasons, or cancel at any time with 7 days’ notice before your next scheduled delivery. We don’t believe in making it hard to leave — we’d rather you come back when the timing is right.

Egg production is seasonal and naturally variable — that’s the honest reality of small-flock farming. Hens lay less in winter, more in spring, and everything in between. If your delivery is ever short, we will apply a credit to your next order, no questions asked.

No problem. We’ll leave your carton in a shaded, cool spot as instructed at signup. We recommend leaving a small cooler with an ice pack by your door during warm months. Eggs do best refrigerated within a few hours on hot days
EGG SAFETY & STORAGE

Refrigerate them. Store eggs large end up in the original carton toward the back of your refrigerator — not in the door, where temperatures fluctuate. Kept refrigerated, your eggs will stay fresh for 4–5 weeks from the lay date printed on your carton.

Once eggs leave the farm environment, refrigeration is the safest practice regardless of bloom status. While unwashed eggs with intact bloom can safely sit at room temperature for up to two weeks, we recommend refrigerating promptly once you receive your order. It’s the easiest way to maximize freshness and minimize any risk.

Right before you crack them — not before storing. Running an egg under cool water immediately before use is all you need. Washing eggs before refrigerating removes the protective bloom and opens the pores of the shell, which shortens shelf life and increases exposure to bacteria.

The float test never fails. Fill a bowl with cold water and gently lower your egg in. A fresh egg sinks and lays flat on its side. A slightly older egg (still good) will stand upright on the bottom. A floating egg has gone bad and should be discarded. Fresh farm eggs almost always sink flat.

Discard any cracked eggs — bacteria can enter through cracks in the shell. If you receive more than one or two cracked eggs in a delivery, please reach out to us at hello@inherelement.co and we’ll make it right.

Completely normal — and honestly a sign that your eggs came from a real farm. Here’s the important thing: do not wash them before storing. Farm eggs have a natural protective coating called the “bloom” that seals the shell and keeps bacteria out. Washing removes it, shortens shelf life, and actually makes the egg less safe. A little hay? Brush it off. A smudge or residue? Leave it. Store the egg as-is, and rinse it under cool water right before you crack it — not a moment sooner. The rule to remember: wash before cracking, not before storing.

No. Our eggs are ungraded and sold direct-to-consumer under Tennessee’s direct farm-sale exemption (T.C.A. § 52-2-103). This means they are not subject to USDA grading or commercial egg-processing requirements. What they are is fresh, carefully handled, and produced by hens we know by name.
